The Association Catharsius is studying the Scarabaeinae and Aphodiinae of West Africa, with the ultimate goal of producing a complete guide to the Fauna of Scarabaeinae and Aphodiinae of West Africa. 

The association comprises all Francophone specialists with competency in this field of research.
